The courses vary in scope and length but both meet the standards set forth by the State of Texas in taking the written permit test.  The class will give you a foundational knowledge of being a competent and safe driver.

The written permit test consists of two tests the signs test and the road rules test.  Each test features 20 questions and there are a possible 5 different variations.

A typical class day will likely consist of a review of topics previously covered, possible review games, notes including a provided notetaker, independent review, quiz, videos to supplement the teaching.  On occasion some independent reading, written tests or hands on activities will occur.  Some material covered may be of a sensitive nature and maturity is required.

No problem, the first six-hours of the class cannot be missed however afterward, missing days are allowed, per state rules, with some makeup depending on days missed.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness

We will explore the dangers of drinking and driving and drug abuse at home and in the car. Adapted from a D.A.D.A.P program. Drunk Goggles Simulation.

Defensive Driving

Using the SIPDE model we will explore how to be on the lookout for danger and evaluate possible dangerous scenarios.

Road Hazards & Crashes

Explore common road hazards and sharing the road. Explore what to do in a crash and the physics of a car crash.

Permit Test

We will review in the first 6hrs, the applicable traffic laws, rules and signs to ready you for your written permit test. The Permit Test is included.

All teens must document that they practice driving at home.  Just like a musician has to practice in their spare time so should a teenage driver to learn and grow their driving skills.  This service is only open to those students who purchase another service thru us.  Limited to a select number of enrollees.

Where does it take place?

This practice can take place either at Mansfield Driving Academy or we can pick up the student for their practice drive at their home (Mansfield and South Arlington addresses only)

What if I don't live in Mansfield or South Arlington?

You can still sign up for this service however, student will need to be dropped off at our office location.

Can we meet at a neutral location?

Yes if so desired and prearranged.

How long is each practice?

Each practice is one hour in length as no more than one hour per day is allowed to be logged

Can driving be done at night?

Yes driving can be arranged at night, will not go past 9pm.

How do I schedule?

This service is a specialized service and we will work with you in setting up a schedule with the instructor.

How many hours are required?

Student must document 30 hours however more driving is encouraged.

Whose vehicle are we in?

This service will take place in a driving academy vehicle.
