Unlike teen drivers, the state has fewer requirements for adults needing driver’s ed.  Although we recommend lessons before tackling the open road.

  • Ages 18-25 – 6 hours (minimum)  instruction course (in-person or online)
  • Ages 25 and above – no course requirement (although not recommended)
  • All Ages – must pass a written permit test (included in our programs)
  • Behind-the-wheel – Optional but recommended
  • Driving Test – Required of all drivers before gaining a full license

  • Long Course – 24 hours instruction course (in-person)
  • Behind-the-Wheel Lessons – 2/4/6 hours of instructor time

After your DPS visit, you’ll receive your Texas Learner License now you can legally start driving with supervision!

When all requirements are complete students will:

  • Schedule the road test (at our office)
  • Demonstrate safe driving skills
  • Show readiness for independent driving

The written permit test consists of two tests the signs test and the road rules test.  Each test features 20 questions and there are a possible 5 different variations.

A typical class day will likely consist of a review of topics previously covered, possible review games, notes including a provided notetaker, independent review, quiz, videos to supplement the teaching.  On occasion some independent reading, written tests or hands on activities will occur.  Some material covered may be of a sensitive nature and maturity is required.

No problem, the first six-hours of the class cannot be missed however afterward, missing days are allowed, per state rules, with some makeup depending on days missed.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness

We will explore the dangers of drinking and driving and drug abuse at home and in the car. Adapted from a D.A.D.A.P program. Drunk Goggles Simulation.

Defensive Driving

Using the SIPDE model we will explore how to be on the lookout for danger and evaluate possible dangerous scenarios.

Road Hazards & Crashes

Explore common road hazards and sharing the road. Explore what to do in a crash and the physics of a car crash.

Permit Test

We will review in the first 6hrs, the applicable traffic laws, rules and signs to ready you for your written permit test. The Permit Test is included.
