– TDLR Approved Online Course Provider | License #C3319

Yes, all teens (14 thru 17) who wish to start driving (behind the wheel) must go through a structured driver training program.  Training can be structured through an online format (either parent-taught or instructor-taught) or in a traditional program in our classroom.

The State of Texas allows 14 year olds to start driver’s ed classroom (24 hours)

HOWEVER, they cannot start the driving phase nor get a learner’s permit until their 15th birthday?

Get your permit in as little as 6 hours.  Texas recognizes that students want their permit as quickly as possible.  All of our programs begin with permit review.  You do not have to take your permit test this early.

All teen driver’s ed consists of 4 phases.

Phase 1 – 24 hour course (online or classroom)

  • Written Permit Test will take place in this phase.

Phase 2 – 14 hour Behind-the-Wheel instruction

  • Direct instruction in the car (parent instructor or instructor)

Phase 3 – 30 hours of at-home practice

  • Practice makes perfect

Phase 4 – Driving Test

  • Only after this phase can a teen get a license to drive alone.

Driver’s ed must last at a minimum, 6’months.

Teen driver’s ed takes at a minimum of 6’months depending on certain met requirements.  Our contract to complete your courses are good for one year.

  • Teen permit holder must hold a permit for 6-months, be at least 16 years-old, and have completed driver’s ed before eligible to take a driving test.

Yes, you are allowed to take a teen-course as a young adult (25 or younger).  You must complete as a teen would and all of the requirements if so.  Otherwise, you can take a 6-hour adult course.  Click Here to view Adult Driver’s Ed options.

If you have never had a Texas permit, you will need to bring appropriate documents as official government id.

  • Make an appointment
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Two proofs of residency
  • Adult Driver’s Ed Certificate
  • DPS Application

A permit allows a student driver to get practice time behind-the-wheel.  They may not drive alone ever.  They must have a person in the car that holds a license 21 or over.

Teen permit holders must hold their permit for a minimum of 6-months before taking a driving test (state law)

Only the DPS can authorize the changeover of an out of state or out of country license.  Please check with the DPS on this process as they have the final say.  Usually an out of state learner’s permit will require the applicant to retake the written test at a minimum and the possibility of retaking the adult driver’s ed course?

  • International drivers who hold their respective country’s license, may be required by the DPS to do adult driver’s ed.  This is dependent on respective treaty.
  • If you have already taken a driving test and received a license in another state – you will not need driver’s ed again.  Just change your license over to a Texas license.

Absolutely, we have a service for that.  We can give you private lessons to supplement what you already know or we can start from scratch and build your skills up in our Learn to Drive package.

Each adult behind-the-wheel lesson is 2hrs in length with an instructor.  Takes place in our vehicles.

You will schedule with us after paying online for the contract.

7 lessons – Each lesson is typically 2-hours in length (1 hour driving and 1 hour observation) with an instructor.

As part of your driving lessons with us, we can give you a simulated practice test.  Just ask your instructor.   They will help craft driving lessons that best develop your skills and meet your needs where they are at.  We cannot always guarantee that we can give you a practice test on a lesson.  You may have to purchase more lessons to get your skills to that point.

We also offer a practice test independent of a lesson.  The practice test is scheduled with one of our certified testers and this service can be booked under our driving tests tab or         Click Here.

Teens who wish to take a driving test must meet the following criteria.

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must have held their permit for 6’months (180 days)
  • Must have completed all phases of driver’s ed.
