Only the DPS can authorize the changeover of an out of state or out of country license. Please check with the DPS on this process as they have the final say. Usually an out of state learner’s permit will require the applicant to retake the written test at a minimum and the possibility of retaking the adult driver’s ed course?
- International drivers who hold their respective country’s license, may be required by the DPS to do adult driver’s ed. This is dependent on respective treaty.
- If you have already taken a driving test and received a license in another state – you will not need driver’s ed again. Just change your license over to a Texas license.
If you started driver’s ed as a teen you may be eligible (have obtained the learner’s permit) to reinstate that process. Keep in mind that an adult taking a teen course must finish all requirements set forth in a teen program.
Absolutely, we have a service for that. We can give you private lessons to supplement what you already know or we can start from scratch and build your skills up in our Learn to Drive package.
Each adult behind-the-wheel lesson is 2hrs in length with an instructor. Takes place in our vehicles.
You will schedule with us after paying online for the contract.
Depending on which service you have chosen will depend on how you setup your lessons. Our policy requires all students (regardless of age) to wait 7 days between consecutive drive times. The best time to reach out to us for drive time information is on Wednesdays before 4pm.
- If you still need a permit. you will need to go through the proper steps to obtain a permit. You will reach out to us after obtaining a permit so we can setup those lessons.
- If you have a permit. We will reach out to you regarding setting up those lessons or you can call us to set those up.
As part of your driving lessons with us, we can give you a simulated practice test. Just ask your instructor. They will help craft driving lessons that best develop your skills and meet your needs where they are at. We cannot always guarantee that we can give you a practice test on a lesson. You may have to purchase more lessons to get your skills to that point.
We also offer a practice test independent of a lesson. The practice test is scheduled with one of our certified testers and this service can be booked under our driving tests tab or Click Here.
Unlike teen driver’s ed students, adults do not have to wait to take a driving test as long as they have a valid permit. Check out the requirements for paperwork here
Do not take a driving test unless you are prepared.
